FIS

Skiing at the FIS level doesn’t have to be crazy expensive and include travel around the world. This program is designed to allow the U19 athletes to pursue their development as a ski racer while having some flexibility with school and other interests. This program will run in parallel to our U16 program when possible for the prep season and will be individualized during the competitive season. Athletes will have the chance to race in local FIS races. We will look at the possibility of all mountain competitions and SX races if there’s an interest from the group.
This is a serious program for the athletes that are looking for an alternative to typical FIS programs. The focus will remain on skill development and progression as an athlete instead of multiple race starts. The race schedule will be built around the proper progression for the athletes while keeping in mind education and budget.

Intro to Coaching
This is a new program for the LLSC for the 2020-2021 season. This program is designed for the second year U16 and older athlete who wishes to start the journey in the coaching world but still like to keep developing their technical skills as an athlete. This hybrid program will allow you to train on a weekly basis with your peers while giving you a taste of the coaching world with the younger programs in the Lake Louise Grizzlies or Lake Louise All Mountain Ski Club programs.
We will create a personalized schedule and training plan for each individual in this program that will allow you to keep developing your skills while targeting the right days or half days to shadow one of our key staff for some professional development and insight in the coaching world.
This program will run in conjunction with out U16/ FIS program for the training days. This program will not include a racer card and will be based on weekend training days and COP only.
This program is available by application only with our Executive Director. The successful candidates will then work with the coaching staff to develop their individual programs for the 2020-2021 season.
